Family Of Dude Who Died in Threesome awarded $3million ...

DM ? The family of a man who died in a three-in-the-bed sex romp have won $3million in damages against a doctor who failed to warn him about extreme physical activity. William Martinez, 31, suffered a fatal heart attack caused by the excitement and physical activity with a woman and another man. They claimed he had failed to warn Martinez about taking part in any physical activity after he visited him to complain about chest pains a week before the threesome.A jury in Gwinnett County State Court initially awarded Martinez to be 40 per cent liable for his own death, reducing the verdict to $3 million.

Listen I don?t care about this dead guy getting 3 million or any of that shit.?? Who the fuck has threesomes with 2 dudes?? Sure it?s all fine and dandy if the chick is always giving a blowjob to one person while the other dude fucks her in the ass, but I?ve seen enough porn to know it never stays that way. At some point swords are gonna cross and then I?m not sure what happens. I think that opens a portal to gayville or something. I just don?t ever want my cock touching another cock except maybe Lord Lamberts. But other than that never. No piece of pussy is worth taking that risk for. Not even Jenny Dell. That shit will scar you for life. Am I the only one that feels that way?

Vote 1 for you?d mash cocks to fuck Jenny Dell and 10 for it?s not worth the mental anguish of getting another man?s jizz splash back on your ding a ling. You can?t forget that type of shit.

Prototype iPad sells for $10,200 on eBay

3 hrs.

An early prototype of the iPad with a surprising design quirk has sold for just?over $10,000 on eBay. The device features two dock connection ports, something that was rumored for the iPad 2. Unfortunately, the novelty of the two ports will be somewhat dampened by the fact that this iPad only runs a testing platform called Switchboard instead of iOS.

As the seller describes it:

This is one of a VERY small amount of Apple prototype devices and you rarely see these on ebay. This iPad has 16GBs of capacity, and is incredibly unique?...?Apple prototyped these iPads to have this connector late in the process and at the last minute decided to remove them. There are patent drawings and leaked casings that show the indents for both dock connector holes, but this unit has both dock connectors, and both are full functional for charging this iPad and connecting it to your computer.

There were certainly rumors to the effect that a new iPad would have two ports, and as the seller notes there were actually leaked cases and drawings that showed this design. This particular iPad, however, is the first actual device to show up with the ports intact.

Whether Apple indeed intended to include both ports up until "the last minute" is anyone's guess, though it seems unlikely that Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ive, both decisive and minimalistic in their design tendencies, would allow such an ambiguity into a shipping product.

It is, however, possible and even likely that the decision of which side the dock would be on was left until the last minute, as the device is equally usable in both landscape and portrait modes. They settled?on portrait as the primary orientation, clearly, mirroring the iPhone and differentiating the iPad from widescreen monitors and TVs.

Interestingly, as a commenter points out at MacRumours, which found the listing, the circuitry necessary for the second dock connector is still present in normal iPads, though there is no hole in the case through which it can be accessed.

The real question, of course, is how did this device get out of Apple's labs in the first place? The seller tells Wired: "Judging by how Apple works, it?s most likely stolen, but I?m not sure about that...?I can?t give much information about the Apple device without revealing who specifically I am." That may put this auction in questionable legal territory.

Regardless, the package is already in the open, in transit?to the US-based buyer. Apple may try to track it down, but this cat is already out of the bag.

Al-Qaida number 2 in Afghanistan killed by NATO airstrike

By msnbc.com staff and news services

KABUL, Afghanistan -- The second highest al-Qaida leader in Afghanistan was killed in a weekend airstrike in the country's volatile east near the border with Pakistan, NATO-led forces said on Tuesday.

Saudi Sakhr al-Taifi, also known as Musthaq and Nasim, was responsible for commanding foreign insurgents and directing attacks against coalition and Afghan forces, NATO said in a statement.

He frequently traveled between Afghanistan and Pakistan, carrying out commands from senior al-Qaida leadership, supplying weapons and equipment to insurgents and transporting insurgent fighters into Afghanistan, the statement said.

He was killed on Sunday in the Watahpur district of Kunar province after being identified with another al-Qaida militant.

No civilians were harmed and no civilian property was damaged, the statement said.

Reuters contributed to this report.

Creativity = Oddball Friends < 50 ? Brain for Business

Genius networks: Link to a more creative social circle
by Zella King? May 29, 2012

The greatest artists and scientists have been inspired by brilliant peers. Now technology can help you maximise creativity by fine-tuning your social circles? The social circles in which these artists and scientists moved seemed to foster the free-flowing ideas from which great movements and discoveries sprang.

[Creativity] ? The constant tension between alien perspectives and familiar faces seems to be key. Take Johannes Gutenberg?s invention of the printing press. He was a goldsmith, but his connections to wine-makers enabled him to see the potential of the screw press for printing.

if you belong to several unrelated social groups you are in a good position to uproot ideas from one and use them in anotherWhere many unrelated groups are connected by a few people, a network can begin to develop ?small world? properties. This kind of structure is repeated across a surprising range of systems ? including scientific collaboration, film-making, power grids, worms? brains, and even memory itselfA small-world network allows information to travel quickly between any two unconnected people by way of a very short chain of intermediaries.

As the game shows, a few hubs can profoundly affect how far and fast information can travel in a small-world network. But a small-world network isn?t just about strangers. Our friends matter, too.

Most people?s social networks are composed primarily of dense clusters of these close acquaintances. We trust them to act both as fans and critics of our new ideas, reinforcing and developing some aspects and dismantling others. The conformity of a close-knit group helps batter an idea into coherent shape. But they don?t often introduce us to new ideas.

[There is a] ?Goldilocks zone? for social networks. Brian Uzzi, a sociologist at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, looked at how the relationships between artists involved in Broadway musicals between 1877 and 1989 affected box office sales (Science vol 308 p 697).

too many strangers dampened the free exchange of ideasBut too many close friends created an atmosphere in which ideas were born of inside references and so only appealed to a limited audience.

That had consequences. In the 1920s, for example, Uzzi found that the people working on Broadway came from an unusually small and interconnected pool, so most productions only involved close friends. Musical theatre hit a low point with a ?flop? rate of 87 per centBut Uzzi and Spiro showed that when the mix was right, the links between different social clusters served to spark radically new conventions that resonated with audiences. A good ratio resulted in some of the 20th century?s most critically successful musicals, such as West Side StoryThe ratio was a quantity called Q.

Although they called it the ?familiarity index?,

Q isn?t just a straightforward percentage of friends and strangers. Instead, it?s a measure of just how clustered a group is, or the extent to which any two people connected to the same person are also likely to be connected to each otherWhen the Q score was too high, it meant that people had been working together on one musical after another, cloistered with others who had also worked together before, reducing their openness to fresh ideasBut when the Q was too low, teams weren?t sufficiently connected to let ideas flow.

By itself, the act of signing up for Facebook, Twitter or a Google + account does little to improve anyone?s creativity. Take a scattergun approach to eavesdropping on strangers, and you might drown in the tide of disorganised information. Most of us react to this information overload by focusing only on what is already familiar. We find it easier to interact with people who are familiar, especially in situations that give us plenty of choices (Group Processes and Intergroup Relations, vol 15, p 119). This leads to the clustered shape that characterised so many of our social networks (see diagram).

To help you understand whether you?re embedded in an echo chamber of people who all know each other, visualisations can give you a rough sense of your Q score. Apps such as TouchGraph and InMaps provide a ?map? of your Facebook or LinkedIn connections.

One way to pepper your social network with the right strangers is by finding the right superconnectors. To find them, you might start by focusing on the problem you?re trying to solve, and then seek out the people who share that interest. On Twitter, for example, the hash tag #creativity will turn up other people who are interested in the topic. The links and connections in their tweets will lead you to second-order strangers who might introduce you to magazines, journals and blogs you would never have known about.

Theoretically, the internet can give you access to a limitless number of interesting strangers. But how many should you be listening to? Anthropologist Robin Dunbar of the University of Oxford has placed the upper limit on this number at a puny 150. And in practice, the ones you actually have the time to get ideas from is probably closer to 50.

If you can keep your universe from collapsing to those 50 people, you?ll avoid falling into the insider trap that characterises social circles with a high Q. The best way to do this is by periodically replacing 25 per cent of your usual news sites, blogs or Twitter feeds. Replacing is key: our limited attention span requires a revolving-door approach.

After all that, don?t forget about your local social network. The internet lets you gather novel snippets in unknown social territory. But it is the people around you ? in your office, lab or school ? who will help you translate these snippets into the real world. Their input will develop the strengths and iron out the weaknesses in your ideas.

Of course, there are those who will groan at the prospect of co-opting their social circles in the joyless pursuit of self-improvement.

They can take comfort in the knowledge that creativity research has done nothing to puncture the notion of the role of individual genius. It has simply proposed that, like Kevin Bacon, few who accomplished great things did so entirely alone.

Step by Step Guide to Correctly Fitting Venetian Blinds

Venetian blinds are a great way to cover the windows while still maintaining a beautiful look inside a home. Blinds that are custom made require exact measurements to ensure the perfect fit. From there, each piece needs to be attached to the window correctly so that the blinds can be moved up and down smoothly. Take your time and follow each step, one at a time.

Measuring the Window
Before ordering Venetian blinds, measure all of your windows that the blinds will cover. Start by measuring the width of the window. This will be the first number needed for ordering. From there, measure the length of the window. Some windows may look like they are the same size and it can be tempting to just assume they are both the same. In spite of how they look, each needs to be measured separately.

Each measurement should be written down, with a quick description of the window. Once the Venetian blinds are delivered, it will be easy to match up the blinds to the correct window. You can place each package in front of the corresponding window and get started.

Included Parts
Along with the Venetian blinds, the packaging will include several other pieces that need to be used for installation. You will need the brackets that hold the blinds onto the window, screws to attach the brackets and rawl plugs. When the screws are turned into the rawl plugs, the attachment to the window is more secure. Sometimes a person pulls a little too hard when trying to pull the blinds up. These two pieces make sure that everything is secure and nothing falls down.

Directions

Step One: Measure the window again, looking for the center. If you are going to fit the Venetian blinds onto the outside of the window, you need to find the center of the window to place one bracket. This bracket will go at the top of the window on the outside. If you plan to put the blinds inside the window, measure for the middle and place the bracket inside the window.

Step Two: If the window is smaller, it may only take two brackets to hold them in place. In this case, each bracket needs to be attached to the inside of the window, at the very top, one on each side. Place the bracket on the wall and mark the openings with a pencil.

Step Three: Take down the bracket and create holes for the rawl plugs at each of the pencil marks. Once this is done, place the bracket back up into the window and use the screws to secure it. While the work can be completed with a screwdriver, the brackets will be more secure if you use a drill to ensure each one is tight.

Step Four: Take one side of the blinds and place them into the corresponding bracket. In most cases, the blinds will not go in directly. One side will go in and then the other will snap into place. You will be able to hear when either side of the blinds attaches. Add the handle that allows you to tilt the blinds to allow some light into a room.

Don`t be intimidated by the look of Venetian blinds and assume that you will not be able to handle the installation on your own. Along with these directions, make sure to check the packaging that comes along with your blinds for differences that apply to your specific manufacturer.

The Benefits of Renting an RV | Prodaja Traktora

The recreational vehicle (RV), motor home, coach or no matter else you may decision it, is actually a luxury ?toy.? it is differently to show off for friends and associates, some way to entertain while traveling in vogue. But, must you rush out to shop for one because you can? let us contemplate a couple of reasons why you may want to assume twice before shopping for, and contemplate renting instead.

First of all, they?ll be reasonably expensive. anything new can price you well higher than $100k. while that?s but the average house on the market, there are different prices concerned. Fuel to urge around and power the RV, maintenance price and engine repairs, and the hassle of finding a parking spot when you don?t seem to be driving, are all things that will affect your budget. If your budget is as important to you because it is to me, than it is continually an honest follow to judge your options.

??? Fuel or Propane. Of course, if you rent an RV, you still have to cover the price of fuel, but many RV rental lots can embody a precise range of ?free miles? and ?generator hours? along with your trip. this is great for weekend outings or one to a pair of week vacations. Unless you plan to measure in your RV year spherical, there is no use in keeping all the appliances running. Things like your refrigerator and air con units can keep running your propane levels down, and if you?re plugged up, the price of electricity used should be calculated.

??? Repairs and Maintenance. Any RV owner can tell you that repairing one thing as intricate as a motor house is no inexpensive task. Taking chances creating repairs yourself may even price you a lot of. If you rarely use your RV, the price of maintenance should be significantly low, but however, if you rarely use your RV, that?s another excuse you must be renting.

??? RV Parking. With the laws changing virtually per annum regarding RV Parks, legal RV parking spaces, and different statutes, it has become virtually impossible to own anything longer than 20 feet. Neighbors complain because your category C Motor Home ?almost? reaches the side walk and that they cannot see down the block. town commissioners are voting on whether or not it is legal to ?live? in an RV not parked in an RV park. If you are doing realize a park or storage lot, it will most likely price you more than storing a TV and a few previous furniture. Finding a location when not in use is one more reason to rent your mobile home and provides it back when you are done.

I could most likely take a survey of RV owners and determine a lot of reasons why it?d be preferable to rent an RV, but these reasons higher than are most likely the strongest. One last reason is that the responsibility of keeping it clean is barely yours while you utilize it. Some RV sales lots which also have units available to rent, make certain the carpets are shampoo?d, the plumbing is flawless, and your experience may be targeted on enjoying yourself. But, if you?d like a lot of reason to think about before creating a decision, or you still are interested in purchasing, contact your local RV dealer

Congressmen tour oil production in Gulf amid protests

KENNER, La. - A chopper carrying a group of congressmen landed just before 4 Friday afternoon at a terminal of Armstrong International Airport, signaling an end to the offshore energy tour led by Congressman Steve Scalise, R- LA.

After he and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor walked down the tarmac, they and a handful of other congressmen reflected on the two-day trip on a deepwater drilling rig and production platform, paid for in part by Shell. The congressional tour was aimed at getting a first-hand look at the skills and technology used in the oil industry.

"The advance of technology, the responsible extraction of the resources here in the Gulf, will mean lower energy prices for working families across the country," said Cantor, R- VA.

But not everyone agrees the process is responsible. Members of the Louisiana Bucket Brigade gave the congressmen a special greeting, dressed in costume outside the airport area, because they believe the politicians are giving in to the oil industry.

"We're tired of our politicians pimping our state out to the oil industry," said Kristen Evans of the Louisiana Bucket Brigade. "There's no excuse for 4,500 spills in the Gulf of Mexico since the BP spill. The problem the oil industry has is an accident problem."

A spokesman for Scalise said the BP oil disaster was discussed multiple times on the trip. But the congressman insists overall, the industry is safe.

"The best fisherman want to go by those rigs because that's where the fish are, because the fish actually thrive in that environment. In large part that's because of the environmental sensitivities [the oil rigs] have," said Scalise.

"Its something that we always applaud the industry, it's always been proactive and it really polices itself," said Rep. Steve Palazzo, R- MS

Those in the congressional tour group believe energy exploration will spur job growth and lower fuel costs. Those in the Bucket Brigade say that's all well and good as long as it doesn't damage the coast.

"They need to invest in the jobs, in the equipment that makes the industry safer. And you know what, that's going to be better for the economy," said Evans.

Scalise and Cantor both say they want a more consistent permitting process to drill in the Gulf.

Divorce Attorney Montgomery County - Personal Injury Law - Fox ...

Last updated 6 hours 57 minutes ago

Accidents happen all the time?however, if you suffer a personal injury due to downright carelessness of a third party, then you may be entitled to compensation and have the right to file a claim. If you want to file a claim, contact a?personal injury lawyer?to help you through the process. This article will explore the concept of?negligence?and the role it plays in personal injury law.?

  • What is negligence in a legal context??
Negligence is from the Latin word?neglegere,?which literally means ?not to pick up.? Negligence doesn?t refer to intentional or specific harm, but rather carelessness that leads to a person getting hurt or even dying. For example, if a business allows clearly unsafe conditions to exist on its property, then that business is negligent and is responsible for any injuries incurred.???
    ?
  • When is negligence applicable?
If a surgeon operates on the wrong?part of the body, then he is being negligent. Negligence is not applicable, however, if a surgeon performs a patient-approved, high-risk surgery that fails. Negligence is only a factor when there has been an error that could have been easily avoided. This applies to car accidents, dog bites, slip and fall injuries, and nearly any other time someone exercises carelessness.
    ?
  • What should you do if someone is negligent??
If you or a loved one has become the victim of someone?s negligence, you may be able to file a personal injury claim. You should hire a personal injury lawyer immediately to lay out your case and present the guilty party with proof of carelessness. Most of the time, the guilty party will see that you have a good case and will?settle out of court. If not, then the case will go to trial and be settled by a judge or jury.

If your life is no longer the same because of someone?s careless mistake, then you may be entitled to compensation. Contact Fox and Fox Attorneys at Law?our?Montgomery County?personal injury lawyers?will be happy to review your case and recommend the next course of action. Myanmar power protests put new reforms to the test

BANGKOK (AP) ? Protests in Myanmar over persistent power shortages have provided a test of how the country's elected but military-backed government will respond to rising expectations sparked by the past year's democratic reforms.

Small demonstrations over the last week in Myanmar's two largest cities and several towns could be seen as an indicator of the new openness under President Thein Sein, who has overseen the country's emergence from decades of authoritarian rule and diplomatic isolation.

From another point of view, the peaceful protests ? which have been limited to a few hundred people ? serve as a reminder of the early stages of past unrest. Previous uprisings have started as small affairs sparked by complaints over the economy and then snowballed into large-scale challenges to authority.

In 2007, the former military regime used force to put down the so-called Saffron Revolution led by Buddhist monks. That rebellion began as small, localized protests over fuel price hikes.

"Protests like this in Myanmar always have the potential to escalate and lead to political unrest," said Trevor Wilson, a former Australian envoy to Myanmar who now teaches at Australian National University. "It is hard to predict how these protests might develop."

Thein Sein was prime minister of the previous repressive military government but shed his formal links with the army to run with its proxy political party in a 2010 general election. Those polls were boycotted by the party of democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who was under house arrest at the time.

Last year, Thein Sein embarked on a reform program whose main objective was to win the easing of economic sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union. That goal has already been largely accomplished.

Also as a result of the reforms, the government won the cooperation of Suu Kyi, the once-implacable foe of army rule and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who was freed after the 2010 elections. Suu Kyi and her National League for Democracy party even agreed to run for parliament in last month's by-elections, snaring 43 seats to play a small but historically significant legislative role.

Along with the revival of parliamentary politics there has been a new assertiveness in civil society, especially in lobbying on environmental issues. One campaign, opposing the Chinese-funded Myitsone hydropower dam on the Irrawaddy River, won an astonishing victory when the government announced the cancellation of the project.

Still, the potential for conflict in Myanmar ? also known as Burma ? lies in the space between the political reforms achieved so far and the shortfall in other fundamental changes, particularly in the economy.

Suu Kyi has endorsed the protests, which have seen demonstrators holding candlelight vigils and marching in public streets.

Speaking Tuesday at the opening of a branch office for her party, Suu Kyi said "the country suffers from power shortages because of mismanagement. I believe that the system has to be changed to get electricity or to get water or to get jobs."

The challengers to the government are the same activists who used to struggle against military rule, but are now emboldened by the new democratic opening.

Their antagonist is the same military that smashed their dreams five years ago. Though he came to power through election, Thein Sein heads a government that serves at the sufferance of the military, which together with its civilian allies controls parliament and security affairs.

The immediate prospects for strife are hard to calculate. The protests have been peaceful and relatively unassertive so far, with the crowd in Yangon ? Myanmar's biggest city ? topping out at about 300 on Friday night.

The peaceful demonstrations continued for a fifth night Saturday in Yangon, though the number of protesters dropped to about 200. Truckloads of riot police looked on but did nothing.

Out of habit, deliberation or misunderstanding, the authorities are clearly nervous. In the central city of Mandalay, Special Branch political police held several protesters briefly for questioning.

On Thursday in the central town of Pyay, police pressure on demonstrators led to a brawl and six arrests. The angered comrades of those detained gathered outside the local prison until the detainees were released, then carried on protesting.

"Police violence encountered during the protests against power cuts shows just how Burma continues to grossly neglect and violate the basic rights to human dignity and freedom of expression," said the Thailand-based Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma), a group that feels reforms have fallen way short of what is desirable. "It is clear that peaceful dissent is still not tolerated."

Others are not so pessimistic.

"The timing of these protests is interesting because the new laws about peaceful assembly are in place and the new government's attitude is different from that of its predecessors," said Australian National University's Wilson. "One would expect both sides to be more reasonable and tolerant now, and early signs are that this seems to be the case."

Thein Sein's reforms included the passage of a bill allowing citizens to stage peaceful demonstrations ? although still-existing security laws continue to put protesters at legal risk.

Myanmar has suffered from power shortages for more than a decade. It has plentiful natural gas supplies, but a poor power distribution infrastructure that has lagged even more as the economy has grown.

Sean Turnell, an economist at Australia's Macquarie University, said he believes what is significant about the current protest movement is "how it highlights the way that economic reform, and the changes that need to be made to make life easier here for the great bulk of people, are seriously lagging."

Up to now, much of Myanmar's natural gas has been earmarked for neighboring Thailand and China, he noted.

"For the previous regime, domestic considerations and the lives of the citizenry (as well as domestic business) took a back seat to the desire to secure foreign exchange," Turnell said. "The current government, I think, is hopeful of doing something better, but at the moment the legacy of the past is weighing on them."

Pet tube keeps dogs safe when traveling

The Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching and thus begins the unofficial ?kick off to summer!? With millions of dog moms and dads expected to be taking to the highways of America, Canada, and well, everywhere over these next few months, one aspect comes to the forefront: pet travel safety.

In their recent summer travel survey, PetRelocation.com reported that 47 percent of respondents shared they will be traveling with their pets in the next three months. Hopefully, these dogs are buckling, belting, or kenneling up. In recent years, I?ve become aware of how important it is to keep a dog safe and secure in a car. Did you know that a a 10 pound dog could be thrown with more than 80 pounds of force if unrestrained? It ain?t pretty, folks.? I?m using a Kurgo harness for my dog, Dexter, and recently found out about another option from Petego: The Pet Tube.

Our special guest reviewer, Karen Meyering, dog mom to two Cocker Spaniels who travel frequently with her, provided this report of her experience with the Petego Pet Tube.?

?Wanna go bye-bye?? Every dog owner knows that asking that simple question will lead to a stampede to the car.? My two Cocker Spaniels love to go everywhere I go.? Being a responsible and loving dog mom, I want to make sure they are safe in the car.? However, I found it very difficult to find a product that kept my dogs secure and comfortable.? My small sedan doesn?t have enough back seat space for two crates.? I tried several brands of seat belt harnesses, but one of my dogs was very uncomfortable in the harness and the other put Houdini to shame with her escape antics.

Enter the Pet Tube Car Kennel from Petego.? The Pet Tube is a strong, yet adaptable fabric kennel that comes in two sizes.? The tube is flexible and expands to the size you need to fit your vehicle and your pets. The tube attaches to the seat of the car, making it secure and preventing your pet from running about the vehicle.? One of the best features is the zip up ends that keeps your pets in the car until you are ready to take them out.? No more door dashing!? Strong mesh allows your pets to look out the window and to see you in the car with them.

Gracie and Roxy ready for a road trip

Gracie and Roxy ready for a road trip

Installation of the Pet Tube took about ten minutes.? I placed a blanket and two small dog beds in the tube and of course added a few favorite toys.? My dogs adapted to the tube immediately.? They now have their own cozy spot and I no longer feel guilty about them riding loose in the car.

If you are a pet parent who is looking for a protective and comfortable alternative to crates and harnesses, try the Pet Tube.? Car rides can be fun again!?

More information about the Pet Tube can be found at www.petego.com.? The Pet Tube is sold on many popular pet supply websites and Amazon.

Note: We accept no monetary compensation for reviews. Review is NOT sponsored by Petego and is the sole opinion of the reviewer for Fidose of Reality.? We welcome your feedback and comments.

Social Media Advertising: An Important Part of The Whole -Social ...

Regardless of which side of the fence you?re on when it comes to social media advertising and the debate over whether it works or not, the recent pullout of a portion of General Motors? online advertising presence and the emergence of Facebook into the stock market make the whole question relevant and front and center again.

Of course the debate is raging on partially because there are two sides to it, and although there are people who point to studies like the one from The Knowledge Networks that states less than five percent of social media users say they go to those portals and use them to influence their buying decisions, at least one expert from WebProNews is sure that social media marketing will pick up speed as it matures and learns to quantify results.

Although there doesn?t seem to be an overall consensus, many people who either use social media marketing or study it feel that it gets its best results for now when used as a supplement with something else. A Facebook page pointing back to a website is one of the favored methods right now, although that same Facebook page standing by itself doesn?t guarantee good results.

Still, social media is most effective as a marketing tool when it?s used correctly and regardless of the fact the entire medium is cutting edge, it still needs to adhere to some simple rules of advertising.

First off, you can point that social media beam almost anywhere the Internet can reach so you need to be sure you?ve spent the time to understand your focus. In other words, you need to narrow down your audience to more than the people who use social media and tailor your approaches to researched audiences specifically. Target the users that are your market. Simple stuff really and just straightforward marketing, but it?s easy to get lost in the possibilities when you?ve got the whole globe as your oyster and throw the net too wide.

You need to make sure that your message is uniform and that all the facets of your campaigns are working together as well. The best way to get the exposure that you?re looking for online is with each tentacle of your overall marketing vision pointing back to that central point that is your website. Social media can be a valuable part of that equation but you need to be sure that you understand, at least for now, that it has a limited role.

Remy M. Maisel: It Turns Out, We Can Indeed Haz Super PAC: Part I

It was a rather non-traditional second night Passover Seder as my uncle and legal advisor Raymond Ragues (of Ragues PLLC) and I nudged Elijah's Cup out of the way and spread out FEC Form 1 on the dining room table.

"You mean this is really, really it?" I was asking in disbelief, as my uncle choked down an unfortunately large morsel of bitter herb and put his hands up in a gesture that meant, "What can I say?"

"This one form, which asks nothing more difficult of me than to spell my name and address properly, is all I need?"

"Yes," my uncle said. "See? You didn't even need me."

"I suppose not," I said, scanning Form 1 again to make sure I hadn't missed any trick questions.

So that was it, then. Confident that I would be able to fill out the form with my peers, I relaxed and put the paperwork aside, and the whole family joined in a discussion of our favorite super PAC-related moments of The Colbert Report.

"Is it really true that a super PAC could pay FEC fines with PAC money?" I asked, remembering one of my favorite moments: the shared phone call with Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Trevor Potter, in which the hosts did a graceful balancing act on the practically nonexistent line between legal discussion and illegal coordination.

"Sure," my uncle said. "How do you think corporations come up with the money to pay fines when they get caught breaking the rules? They pay them with the money they stole."

Even my 13-year-old shook her head somberly at what is, even to her, so clearly an injustice.

Back at Penn State, we convened for the first time. I had an outpouring of support from professors and students alike as the news that I planned to do this (crazy? stupid? fun?) thing.

I began this project thinking I might well end up doing it alone, save for a few friends that I could cajole into helping. (Some of them, I'd argue, even owed it to me for toting me along to what I found to be ill conceived and even less well-enacted student productions, which I will not name so as to avoid directly insulting the responsible parties.) I figured I would probably be the only one who cared, and that was fine by me. It would certainly be nice to have some help, or even just some company, but I would be content to go it alone.

Boy, did I ever underestimate my peers. One could hardly blame me for forgetting for a moment that football is not the only thing Penn State students are interested in, given that most of the country routinely does the same. But I should have known better.

In the first few hours after I had set up a Facebook page, which I did in the stolen moments between classes that I now passed exclusively at the Berkey Creamery, working frantically on my laptop, I had several dozen "likes." I sent a quick note to a student-run blog, Onward State, and the student newspaper, the Daily Collegian, announcing my intention to start a political action committee. I delegated the task of creating a Twitter feed and an email address to my assistant treasurer and friend Jess Cody. Out of necessity, I quickly got comfortable asking for help and decisively delegating roles and tasks.

And it wasn't hard. Because everywhere I turned, someone was stepping up and offering help or praise. From professors that encouraged me to borrow their microphones and introduce the lecture hall of 375 students to the ones who offered financial donations, and students who simply said "Where do I sign up?" to the ones who offered to design a logo (it's in the works, don't worry), to the PNC bank employee who offered encouragement, people were coming out of the woodwork to help.

The next order of business would be to meet in person.

Beltran hits 14th HR as Cardinals win

By R.B. FALLSTROM

AP Sports Writer

Associated Press Sports

updated 11:32 p.m. ET May 23, 2012

ST. LOUIS (AP) - When the first five San Diego Padres reached safely, it looked as if it'd be a long night for rookie Lance Lynn. The St. Louis Cardinals pitcher showed veteran presence after that.

Lynn came back with five scoreless innings after a three-run first Wednesday night and the Cardinals beat the San Diego Padres and former St. Louis postseason star Jeff Suppan 6-3 for a three-game sweep.

At 7-1, the 25-year-old right-hander is tied with the Phillies' Cole Hamels for the major league victory lead.

"When you give it up, you can't keep giving it up or it's going to be a long night," Lynn said. "You don't have to change your approach, you just have to grind more, concentrate more, dig deep and make a pitch when it matters."

Lynn entered the season with one career victory, and didn't seem overly impressed with his total this year.

"We've got seven wins when I'm pitching," he said. "That's all that matters."

Carlos Beltran hit his NL-leading 14th home run for the go-ahead runs, also his first homer in 10 days. Before missing four straight starts with a sore right knee, Beltran had homered six times in six games.

"You can't expect that to happen every week, you know," Beltran said. "I just hope that I can go out there and feel good at the plate and be able to contribute.

"Being able to hit home runs like that, it happens once or twice in a season."

David Freese snapped a 3-for-34 slump with a homer and RBI single as the Cardinals had more than enough offense minus injured starters Lance Berkman, Jon Jay and Allen Craig. Berkman is out at least six to eight weeks with a knee injury.

"Lance, we don't know what's going to happen with him, and some other guys are battling injuries," Beltran said. "But we as a team have to fight with what we have and right now we're doing a pretty good job."

Will Venable hit his sixth career leadoff home run and also doubled and singled for the Padres.

San Diego was held to three or fewer runs for the seventh straight game and fell to a major league-worst 4-13 on the road.

Suppan (2-3) labored for 97 pitches in 4 2-3 innings, giving up five runs in his fifth start for San Diego.

The 37-year-old right-hander was the 2006 NL championship series MVP for the Cardinals and was the lone pitcher on that World Series title team to win a game in each round. The St. Louis fans hadn't forgotten, giving him a warm ovation with some standing as he left the mound.

"It was very nice, I was very grateful," Suppan said. "I was still in the moment of my outing, so I wasn't able to take it all in."

Suppan, who spent all last year in the minors, entered 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA in four career starts in St. Louis as a member of the visiting team.

Matt Holliday singled to start the fifth ahead of Beltran's first homer in 10 days. Freese's ninth of the year made it 6-3 in the seventh.

"Sometimes you've just got to start over and get back to the basics and figure some things out," manager Mike Matheny said of Freese. "It looked like it worked pretty good for him today."

Lynn, in the rotation for injured Chris Carpenter, recovered from a three-run first. He went six innings and worked out of frequent trouble with the Padres stranding nine runners while he was on the mound.

"Well, he wiggled out of a few jams and we just couldn't get that big knock, that ball in the gap to really break his back," Padres manager Bud Black said. "And Beltran really broke our back with that home run."

Victor Marte and Marc Rzepczynski worked a scoreless inning apiece and Jason Motte finished for his eighth save in 11 chances.

Venable hit his third homer of the season on Lynn's second pitch. The first five Padres reached safely with Chase Headley's RBI single making it 2-0. Cameron Maybin was caught stealing for just the second time in 15 chances on a pitchout to hurt San Diego's shot at a bigger inning.

Jesus Guzman, San Diego's cleanup man with no homers, was hit by a pitch his first two times of the season in his first two at-bats.

Skip Schumaker had an RBI double and the Cardinals added RBI singles from Freese and Matt Adams to tie it in the bottom of the first. Suppan needed 54 pitches to get through two innings, escaping damage in the second after walking Schumaker and Holliday with two outs.

NOTES: Venable is a career .413 hitter (26 for 63) against the Cardinals with four RBIs. ... In 30 career starts in St. Louis, all but five for the Cardinals, Suppan is 11-5 with a 3.06 ERA. ... Headley returned after missing one game with a lower back injury. ... Eric Stults makes his second start for the Padres Thursday at New York against the Mets. The lefty allowed two runs in 6 2-3 innings against the Angels with no decision in his first start. ... Jake Westbrook was 1-1 with a 1.74 ERA in two starts last year against the Phillies, the team he faces on Thursday in St. Louis. ... Holliday is 9 for 16 against Suppan with three homers and six RBIs, although he was held to a single and walk in three trips.
